First let me define what is alkalinity to understand what is alkaline water. pH is a number that express the acidity or alkalinity of a solution on a logarithmic scale. When the pH is 7.4 is called neutral; lower than 7.4 values indicate an acidic pH and higher numbers are called alkaline.

Pure water has a pH close to 7.4. A perfect healthy body also has a pH value very close to 7.4. For the purposes of this article a pH of 7 means the pH of pure water and also a “pure” healthy body. This pH is also called neutral, not acidic and not alkaline.

The normal so healthy pH of the human blood is 7.4.

Why we need to drink alkaline water?

I will elaborate on those 4 detox points to better understand the importance of drinking plenty of alkaline water every day.

Why it so important to properly eliminate naturally occurring toxins from our bodies?
To have a healthy body by having an alkaline or pH neutral body.

Simple Methods to keep toxins out of your body

  1. Drink plenty or large amounts of pure, alkaline water – preferably 9.5 Kangen – to eliminate natural occurring metabolic waste by products and other accumulated toxins. In most cases this is enough to keep our bodies pH neutral or slightly alkaline. On the other hand, if we drink commercially bottled drinking water which is usually acidic or very acidic -pH lower than 7- our bodies become acidic too. This is an invitation to illness and sickness to come.

     

  2. Have good bowel movements. Dr. Schultz from the Natural Pharmacy, Marina Del Rey, California, says that¬† we should have normal bowel movements after every meal or 3 to 4 times a day. I’m a living witness of that truth! It took me a lot of discipline eating large amounts of fresh fruits and green vegetables and 40 to 60 oz. of green smoothies every day! It is well worth it! Constipation is one of the worst sicknesses. If our elimination through defecation is not proper or enough, we can’t get ride of the toxins and waste accumulated in our intentional track. Chronic constipation makes toxic waste accumulate in our body and turns it into and acidic body, prompt to sickness and disease.

     

  3. Exercise, work out to the sweating point. Take saunas regularly if you can’t exercise. These two methods help the elimination of toxins and naturally occurring metabolic waste. Working out, aerobics and other form of exercising by moving your body, also move our internal organs and further helps elimination of toxins and waste. The exercising rule is to sweat 3 times a week.

The most common cause of sickness and disease is having an acidic body; in other words when through eating and drinking acidic foods, too much stress and other emotional chronic conditions, the pH of the body becomes lower than 6.8 or acidic.

When Is Cafe Gratitude Opening In Venice?

Cafe Gratitude Venice IS OPEN!!! since noon, today, July, Tuesday 17th!

We received this award!

Video taken today, at the opening day of Cafe Gratitude Venice. I talked to founder Matthew Engelhart and his son and manager Ryland. We also were witnesses to the first Happy Birthday celebrated in this new location, to the song of Jason Mraz.

Last Update: Opening is expected by next week, July 16th the latest)
07-14-12:  According to a server from the Larchmond Cafe, the opening is imminent! This wekend, mock servings and kitchen running are being done to test how the open is done and to verify that the opening can be done when Cafe Gratitude Venice gets its last permit!!!

07-15-12: We heard that it is very likely Cafe Gratitude Venice is opening tomorrow Monday or Tuesday :-), though it’s not confirmed by official communications from the popular Los Angeles cafe in Larchmond street.

According to Murphy’s Laws, “Everything takes long than it takes”. Hundreds of Cafe Gratitude fans, like me, are eagerly awaiting for the “What are you grateful for?” popular restaurant in LA, to open another one in the west side. The address is 512 Rose Ave, Venice, CA 90291.

About a year and a half ago I asked Terces Engelhart, co founder of Cafe Gratitude along with Matthew Engelhart, if they were planing to open another Cafe Gratitude in the west side of Los Angeles, and she told me “Yes, in Venice”. It was too good to be true, since I live 5 miles from the beach and 10 from Venice! (and my office is about 5 min from the new location:-)

The first date of the long awaited opening we had from Ryland, owner and manager at the LA joint and son of Matthew Engelhart, was May 15. Since then Murphy’s law took over and the opening was moved to June 15.

When we went to visit the Rose and 5th Street corner in Venice last week, we saw that final touches were being added, and last paint coats applied. The new place is bigger than the LA restaurant (2200 sq ft) with the added convenience of a long covered patio for outside sitting, and 42 parking spaces.

Today is June 22 and they were still not able to open the doors to the Venice crowd!

Yesterday we got a word from a server from the LA Cafe, that training was taking place, and the new opening date is imminent. We don’t mind the wait for the new Cafe Gratitude in Venice, Los Angeles, as it is going to be the best restaurant in the area!

 Do you know anybody with Heart or chest pain, or a broken heart?

¬†Broken Heart is any pain in the heart or chest caused¬† by chronic negative emotions like¬† Fear, Anger, Anxiety, Guilt, or Stress. It also includes broken relationships with friends, Family, co-workers or Romantic Partners. A broken heart is chronic blocked emotional trauma; I just read today: “Holding¬†grudge is giving an unwanted person free rent in your head!” and¬†¬†this emotional trauma will make you sick if you don’t get ride of it ASAP!

 I became very interested on this subject when after eating healthy & regularly exercising for so many years, I had some heart & chest pain episodes. & I found a nice  way to solve it.

¬†3 months ago a cancer patient told me ‚ÄúThis book is healing my aching heart & my body.‚ÄĚ

¬†‚ÄúLove & Survival‚ÄĚ: 8 Pathways to Intimacy & Health. by Dr. Dean Ornish.

 According to Dr. Ornish the main causes of heart pain & failure, & chest pain, are:

 1. Lack of Love

2. Lack of Intimacy, &

3. Isolation or Lack of Social Support or Group Support

 I will talk about: Intimacy or human connection and. group support first, and leave  love for last because is the most fascinating for me.

 Watch this video on how to heal a broken heart.

  1. Intimacy: is the capacity to be transparent with someone, in a safe place where you can confine and talk about your feelings & thoughts, knowing that we are not going to be judged or criticized.

¬†Remember the phrase: I took it out of my chest,‚ÄĚ just the fact that you are not going to be judged or criticized. Remember the phrase: I took it out of my chest,‚ÄĚ just the fact that you are being heard, listened to, is healing. If we ‚Äúeat‚ÄĚ out negative feeling for a long period of time, it may result in heart or chest pain.

       2. In a group support we have the same intimacy component too, now at the group level: a safe place to express our thoughts & feelings.

A support group could be almost anything: a cancer of challenged heart group, AA, OA, a yoga class, a meditation group, a church or spiritual group.

 My favorite one is Toastmasters, where we come to open out Hearts to subjects like finances, Food, Travel, languages, marketing, nutrition, & religion, & all those nice things in life.

¬†The next component on a group support is the sense & knowledge that we belong. Remember in cheers, a place where ‚Äúyou want to go where everybody knows your name‚ÄĚ? They got together in a safe place to share feelings & thought about life, work, romance; and somehow at the end of the day, they got it out of their chests & they got healed & happy.

 Another component of the group support is the knowledge that you matter, that your life matters to someone:

Dr. Rahcel Remen; founder & director of the Institute of Health & Illness, says:

‚ÄúOnce you know that your life matters to someone, it can‚Äôt be taken back from you.‚ÄĚ When you know that you belong & that your life matters, you have that strength forever. This knowledge boosts your immune system & promotes health.

 

      3. Now what is Love? We usually think that love is a very strong liking or attraction between two people.

Just remember when you were teenager: how many times your mother put up with you! & she still loves you! This is unconditional love!

Love is much more than that. Love is a powerful energy capable to influence people’s hearts.

Energy is the capacity to do work or overcome resistance. Energy is power or the capacity to influence. In a Coldplay song, Chris Martin says: ‚ÄúUse your heart as a weapon…, it hurts like heaven‚ÄĚ…

 One very interesting thing I found in this book is that most of the experts on the fields of love, intimacy, & group support say:

‚ÄúThese 3 factors are very powerful in ways that we don‚Äôt fully understand yet‚ÄĚ

That wasn’t enough for me. I interviewed the 3 energy healing holistic practitioners.

 They explained to me that negative emotions create an energetic electromagnetic field blockage in and around the heart that causes the pain and weakness to the heart. An energy healing session neutralizes this negative energy pattern, bringing back health to the heart and the flow of energy to the heart & the rest of the body. (An energy work healing session removes that blockage, allowing the energy to flow again.)

 

  1. Remember to bring more love & laughter into your lives.
  2. Have a perceptive friend to confine your feelings & thoughts & ‚ÄúGet it out of your chest!‚ÄĚ
  3. Remember to come to TM meetings every week, as permitted.
  4. & if all of the above is not enough (to heal a broken heart), an energy healing practitioner can take care of your heart!
