The Gift of Laugther

We are born with the gift of laughter to lift our spirit.

Everybody knows that a heartfelt laugh makes one feel good.

In ancient Japan, people spoke to the organs and made them laugh, because they were convinced that “laughing organs” can’t stay sick. [1]

A growing body of research is showing that laughter has therapeutic value and induces physical changes in the body that support health and well-being [2]. Laughter

  • Boosts the immune system and circulatory system
  • Enhances oxygen intake
  • Stimulates the heart and lungs
  • Relaxes muscles throughout the body
  • Triggers the release of endorphins (the body’s natural painkillers)
  • Eases digestion/soothes stomach aches
  • Relieves pain
  • Balances blood pressure
  • Improves mental functions (i.e., alertness, memory, creativity)
  • Improves sleep

Many hospitals now offer laughter therapy programs as a complementary treatment to illness.

It doesn’t cost you anything to laugh. Enjoy it daily – get tickled, watch a funny movie, play with kids, or just smile back at the world because you are grateful for that you are alive.

If you find yourself not being able to laugh and feel joy, you may be experiencing signs of depression. Please get help. The Andreas Method is a gentle and effective method to release underlying blockages and positively effect stress and anxiety.

Laugh from Your Heart 😉

Blessings,
Jeannette von Johnsbach
